My friend has U.S.A passport but he has one year ARC in Taiwan nowCan he goes to Hong Kong to apply visa for China by himself at early morning and get it at night? (he wants to get it in one day so the next day he can go to Beijing for travel.If he can do it, how much is the fee to apply in one day?Thank you!

I don't think he can get it within one day by himself. If he applies at the Commisioner Office of Foreign Affairs Ministry, he can apply for the rush service, by which he can get the entry permit 24 hours after the office accepts the application. The fee for the rush servce is 300 HKD. Plus the application fee 1100 HKD, your friend needs to pay 1400 HKD.
