i am doing a paper about lu xun's short stories Kong Yi Ji, and it said about long gown class and short-coated class. can you tell me what's the history behind long gown and short coated ? thank you

As I know, the long gown class can catch your ankles or calf; while the short-coated class is just as long as a short coat, which goes to your waist. Both of them are the product of the ancient China.
