M visa duration

I would be travelling for the first time to China. As for my business type, what visa duration can I apply to? 1 or 2 months? CVASC informed me that for the first time it should not be more than 3 months, while some agents say it is 1 month for the first time. My jurisdiction is Mumbai office. Please help.

Since you are applying it at the CVASC office, I think what the officer there said may be more accurate. You can confirm with officer whether you can apply for 3 months' stay.
