X2 visa with JW201 and 202

Hi,

A friend from mine in the Netherlands is being asked to provide the JW201 or JW202 document for his x2 type of 179 days but his language school cannot provide it. They told him they can only give him a visa of 90 days. X2 type should not ask for this, right? What solution do you offer?

All the best,
Fernando.

Actually, the form JW201 or JW 202 is not required for the submission, but the officer in the embassy can ask for submitting the materials that they deem necessary. I suggest your friend ask his school to try to get the form from the provincial Foreign Affairs Office and send it to him. If he can't get the form, then he has to accept the 90-day entry permit. After he arrives at China, he may have the X2 extended one week before it expires.

It's hard to say because the officer sometimes may not approve of the extension, but it is possible to extend the X2 type at the local Exit and Entry Administration Department, the extended duration shall not be more than 90 days.
