What is the duration of stay for L Visa? Flight & hotel reservation confirmations for a backpacker?

How long can I stay in China on an L visa? Is it 30, 60, or 90 days?

My boyfriend and I plan backpack in China for about 35-40 days. We will fly into Beijing, and then fly out of Guilin at the end of our trip.

Since we are backpacking, not all of our accommodations have been booked.

Will our application get rejected if we cannot provide our hotel reservations? Will it be sufficient to provide the flight reservations?

Victoria, usually the duration should be 30 days. However, you can extend it at least seven days before it expires. If you can't have any invitation letter, then round-trip air tickets and hotel bookings are required. I think flight tickets are not enough for your application.
