About:China Visa Exemption

Hi, I am travelling to Hk and the flight goes via Shanghai, stopover appox 3 hours.

My return is via Chengdu a week or so later. This stopover will be approx 14 hours. I would prefer to get a nights sleep in a local hotel. If I leave the airport do I need a temporary visa or can I get away with a 72 hour free transit type? If only temporary visa how much will it cost ?

Thank u

Gregg

Gregg, you needn't apply for any other type if you enjoy 72 hours free transit. It's ok for you to exit the airport and stay at a hotel in the city.
