About:Apply for China Visa in a Third Country

Can a US citizen get a Chinese Visa in Bangkok or Bali?

Hello! We have run out of time to get a Chinese Visa in our home country of the United States, but we will be in Thailand and Indonesia for a month before we wish to go to China. Any idea if these offices could issue one to a non resident? We are hoping to visit a friend in China, and have gotten a letter of invitation from him.

Thanks!
Amy

Hi Amy. You can get it in Bangkok but not Bali, as the consulate general in Bali does not offer consular service at present. Documents necessary for the application are your passport wih a validity of at least six months and two blank pages, a photocopy of the passport's data page, an application form, a recent color photo, and the invitatin letter from your friend.
