how 2 individuals can travel to tibet by train from china, what documents are needed?

We're 2 Australian guys having a visa for China. Which way we can get a Tibet travel permit and be able to enter by train or bus or other surface way to Tibet and then return to China again ? Do we need to contact a local (Chinese or Tibetan) travel agent?

Gogis, individual foreigners are not allowed to enter Tibet. Yes, you both need to join a group tour by qualified tour agency or you may ask the agency to arrange a private trip for both of you. The agency can help you acquire the Tibet Travel Permit.
