About:China Great Wall

Where's the best place to be at the Great Wall for Jan 2015?

Badaling or Mutianyu?
Tried to cable car at Mutianyu, quite scary and I think its going to be very cold on Janury also.
Which place to go if we dont want to climb up?

It would be cold both at Badaling and Mutianyu. Since you are scared of Mutianyu, I would recommend Badaling to you. Considering all, all facilities and services of Badaling are more considerate.
