About:Apply for China Visa in a Third Country

Visa Application. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm currently travelling away from home and was told that the best thing to do is to apply for a China L type when I get to Hong Kong, since if I applied for one at home (in October) it would have expired by the time I get to China (In April). I've since heard from a Chinese national and read here that this might not be possible, do you think it would be possible for me to apply in New Zealand when I'm there, despite the fact that I'm not a NZ national? Also does anyone know how long it would take? The other problem is that I've only just found out that you need a fixed itinerary to apply for a visa which I don't have -- is it a problem if my plans change along the way or should I have everything pre booked?

1. You can apply it in the Chinese embassy in Wellington. The documents required for submission are your valid passport and a photocopy of its data page, an application form glued with your recently taken photo, the original and photocopy of your entry permit for New Zealand, and roundtrip tickets and hotel booking records.

2. It often takes 4 weekdays for the processing.

3. The roundtrip tickets and hotel booking records are necesary for the application, but not everything relate to the itinerary should be prebooked. Alternatively, if you have friends in China, you can ask them to write you an invitation letter. In that case, you don't have to present itinerary proofs.
