About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Arriving to Beijing June 5 at 1530h, leaving June 8 at 1610h.

With this itinerary, we are over the 72 hour permit by 40 mins. Is there a possibility to get leniency for this upon arrival or apply for a small extension at the airport?

Hi Louise, there is a possibility that you can get leniency for the free transit policy, as I know in some cases and airports, the duration of your stay is calculated from the midnight after your arrival, but it cannot be assured.
