About:Shanghai Travel

Is it very crowded on new years eve at bund, Shanghai?

I will reach bund at 6 in the evening and need to return back to airport for flight at 6 in the morning. Will i be able to catch the train between such crowd. I read in few forums that crowd is too much and there is no space even to move.

Yes, it's very crowded. There are lots of celebrations in this area. During that period of time, subways are extremely crowded. It may be around midnight or later when you come back, to take a taxi to the airport may be your only choice. The cab fare is about CNY 240.

Finally i decided not to leave the airport and read the sad news of 35 people getting killed in the stampede. I believe it was a wise decision. I will have a look at the night view of bund on some other trip to shanghai.
