About:Chinese Clay Figurine Museum

Do i need a transit visa to travel through China? Please kindly advise.

I'm an American Citizen and I'm travelling from San Francisco to Guangzhou to Kathmandu on China Southern Airlines and the flight from San Francisco to Guangzhou has a technical stopover at Wuhan, The total amount of transit time is less then 24hrs on both departure and return flights.

Your case isn't ok for 72 hours free transit in Guangzhou because you stop at two Chinese airports. However, you can make use of 24 hours free transit, to my understanding. When you arrive at Guangzhou airport, you can apply for a stay permit and then you won't have trouble when you land at Wuhan airport. However, you may contact Guangzhou airport at 0086-20-81101991 to confirm if they issue the stay permit to you. If not, you need to apply for a G type in advance.

My flight goes from San Francisco to Guangzhou and i have a technical stopover at Wuhan. This is not an intended stopover, my ticket shows that my flight stops for 1hrs and 50 minutes at Wuhan before going to Guangzhou. Even though my ticket shows non-stop flight, there is a stop in Wuhan which is not visible in the ticket. Do i still need a transit G? Thank you.

Hi, John. According to my experience, if during the techical stop, you do not get off the plane, usually, a Transit G type is not needed since the stop is not visible on your ticket, otherwise, you had better apply one to make sure you can board again for your next journey.

Personally speaking, you are suggested to call the airline to make sure.

Hi John! I just bought the same ticket SFO-KATHMANDU :( ... and have the same doubt... at the end you needed the visa or how it went? Did you get off the plane in wuhan or no? Thanks so much for the info!
