About:China Customs Declaration

gifts for friends and family

We are living and working legally in China. We are going on holiday to South Africa, our home country. We want to take battery packs you use to recharge cell phones for 4 friends as well as some clothing items. Is it allowed?

Hannes, clothing items are allowed to enter China. However, you'd better consult with your airline you choose to take you back to China what the requirements they have on the battery packs. According to what I know, passengers are allowed to bring batteries below 100wh in their carry-on luggage. If its storage is between 100 to 160wh, they need to ask permission from the airline. And they can not take more than 2 pieces. If it is larger than 160wh, they are not allowed to bring them in their carry-on luggage and checked luggage.
