If via ground transportation, you can take bus to Shangri-la, and then take direct bus there to Lhasa. It’s about 1,116 mi between.
If by train, you need to transfer in Kunming and Chengdu, which is about 2,175 mi between and take not less than 3 days to reach.
You’re suggested to fly to Lhasa from LJ directly. It would save you time and energy.
