About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Istanbul-Urumqi-Guanzhou-Auckland

Hey,

I have flights from Istanbul to Auckland and I have 2 transit flights in China. First stop is in Urumqi and we will arrive at 10th of January at 13:45. Our next flight will leave at 19:20 to Guanzhou. We arrive at 23:45. Our flight to Auckland is at 11th of January at 14:30. So we will stay in China more than 24 hours.

It wasnt very clear to me at all if I need to have visa in advance even if im not planning to leave from the airport. Im rom Finland.

So do I need one for China though I wont leave the airport?

You need to have a Transit G in advance although you do not leave the airport. You need to fly from one city to another city in China, so the Transit G is required.
