Internship visa + student type

Hi,
I have been offered an internship at a Dutch firm in Xiamen for about 20 weeks, ending in July. Afterwards I intend to study at the University of Xiamen, starting in september... For these two activities I need separate ones. Should I first apply for a F and afterwards for a X type? Or is not possible to extend my stay after my internship? i.e i need to re-enter China.

Thanks in advance.
Paul

According to the latest information, people should apply a Work Z type for the internship in China, so you may need to apply for a Work Z and then a X type. You can further consult your local Chinese embassy for your internship type.

After your internship, you need to apply a X type for your further studying. The applicant needs to be done out of China based on the rules. Maybe you can try to apply in HK for your new X type.

Thank you for your reply! So, if i get this right... I need to apply for a student type during my stay in China. Do you know if there are any possibility to have someone in Holland to do it for me? i.e. a family member? Or is going to Hong Kong the best solution?

Thanks in advance.

According to the rules, applicants should be in the country or region where he or she submits the application. So it is not suggested that you family membe in Holland to apply it for you. I think the best solution is to go to HK and apply for it by yourself.
