About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

72 free transit in Shanghai, Is it required any visa or other application?

I am Canadian citizen travel to Asia and will arrive in Shanghai from Ho Chi Minh Vietnam on March 06 at 13:10 with a stop-over in Taipei. I'll stay in Shanghai til March 9 and my flight will leave to head home thru USA at 8:25.

You don't need to apply for a Visa, but before your flight, you should ask your airline to declare the 72 hour free transit for you.
