What was the Chinese Buddhist named after?

Do Chinese Buddhists eat meat? What is all involved to be a Buddhist? As in being a Chinese Buddhist here in America. Do I have to have a shrine nor what in a room?

Justin, normally the abbots of the buddhist temples give the names to their buddhists. Most Chinese Buddhists are vegetarians. However, some Buddhist monks do eat meat. If possible, ou can have a shrine or a small room for the buddha you worship. However, it is not very necessary. In many Chinese families, they just place the statue of buddhas on a table and worship everyday.
