Will the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka, be closed during the Xmas season? if so what are the days?

Intend to apply for Visa on 23rd to travel to Kunming on 31st December.

The Xmas holiday arrangement is not anounced yet. By convention, there is a one-day leave for Xmas, which falls on Dec. 25.
