About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am an Irish passport holder and i have a 20 hour layover in Kunming.

Is it possible for me to leave the airport and check in to a hotel? It says 24 hr free transit does that entitle me to leave the airport? Thanks

It is possible to leave the airport and check-in in a hotel. The 24-hour free transit will entitle you to leave the airport. You need to use your passport and onward flight ticket to apply for a stay permit to leave the airport.
