G train Beijing to shanghai

Hi, I'm planning to take a g type from Beijing to Shanghai but I've got a huge luggage w me (approx 30" 20" 12") which exceeds the capartment space. May I know if the space at the end of the carriage is sufficient and will always be available for me to put the luggage? Also, is it safe to put it there? I'll try to keep an eye of my luggage to my most possible but I'm just afraid that it may get crowded and I'll be unable to ensure that it won't get stolen or something. Thanks!

There is space avaialble for the large sized luggage at the connection of carriages. You can put it there. All the large luggage will be arranged there. Usually there will be few people standing on the G type and thus there should not be crowds that covers your sight. Maybe you can change the seat with someone near the connection after the boarding as well.

Thank you for your reply!

May I also ask if there will be space for my luggage (30" 20" 12") if I were to get D train, soft sleeper tickets. Thanks!

There are also closets available at the connection between two carriages on D trains, but you’d better check in early and find a place for your luggage, and take care of it. But in the soft sleeper coach on some D types, there is no luggage rack or closet. Passengers can only place the luggage under the table or the lower berths. The lower berth is about 25cm (0.8feet) high above the ground and the table is about 70cm (2.3feet) high. Hope it helps.
