About:Getting Around Suzhou

Hi, i'll be travelling to Suzhou via train from Shanghai Hongqiao station.

Once reach Sz Railway station, should I take metro or buses to the following places:
1) Humble Administrator's Garden;
2) Pingjiang Road;
3) Shantang Street;
4) Any other nearby attractions that I should not miss?

Kindly advise the cost & travelling time required & right sequence to visit those places.

Is it possible to cover the above places within 12hrs?

The suggested sightseeing route is Humble Administrator's Garden first, then Pingjiang Road and Shantang Street last. After arriving at the railway station, you are suggested to take a taxi to the Humble Administrator's Garden first. The cab fare is about CNY 15.
If you want to go Pingjiang Road from the garden, walk around 273 yards to the east along with Shilinsi (Shilin Temple) Street. Then walk 186 yards to south along with Pingjiang Road and walk to east along with East Baita Road.
From Pingjiang Road to Shantang Street, you are suggested to take a taxi to the destination directly. The cab fare is about CNY 17.

The buses are not suggested, because it may be hard for you to find the bus station if you are the first time to that city and cannot speak English.

Besides these attractions, you can also visit Lingering Garden, Blue Wave Pavilion and Lion Grove Garden.
About the time, if you want to fully appreciate the beautiful scenery of these scenic spots, the time will be tight. But it's possible to tour these places within 12 hours if looking around generally.

Is taxi available easily or only at designated spots?

For your 12h's stay, here is my suggestion for sightseeing in the city:
Humble Administration Garden - SZ Musuem - Lion Grove Garden - Lingering Garden - Pinghai Road

The former three are very close and you can walk from one to another. For the last two, you can take a taxi to reach and the taxi is very easy to take. Just flag down one and hop on.
