Visa required to stay at one of the hotels near guangzhou airport?

Hi - Would I need a visa if I leave the airport and stay at one of the hotels for 6 hours or so? I understand if I am in transit and stay at the airport I would not need a Chinese visa. Cheers.

No, you don't need a Chinese visa. But you need to apply for a stay permit at the airport. Then you can walk out of the airport and find a hotel to take a rest. :-)
