About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do i need to apply for transit visa or can i direct transit within 24 hours (without visa transit)?

Hi, I'm holding a Vietnamese passport, my flight transit in Shanghai only 10 hours. My flight is from Auckland - Shanghai, Shanghai - Hanoi.

No, you needn't apply for a transit type in advance because you enjoy 24 hours free transit in Shanghai.
