Which took 3 weeks to get complete plus, the running around with getting documents and dr appointments. (I'm ok) So he went to HK and just got a tourist L type to make things easy, now his L expires Dec 18, where can he go to apply for S1? Also mine said it expires Apr 30, I thought they gave you a year not just the school semesters.

For applying a S1 in HK, he is suggested to find a local big tour agency to have a try, otherwise, he cannot get it smoothly.
