is it possible to come Jinghong from chiangmai thailand of luangprabang laos?

what kind of transport, air or road?

From Chiangmai Thailand, you can fly to Kunming first and then transfer to another flight to Xishuangbanna. After that, take a taxi to your destination. Or take a bus to Chiang Khong in three hours, from where you can easily go to Houay Xai. At Houay Xai Bus Station, you can take a bus to your destination directly in around 6h. But I heard only one bus is available for this route every day and it leaves at 07:00 in the morning. From Luangprang, you can take a boat to Houay Xai and transfer to a long-distance bus to JH.
