About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Resident visa for working independently (sourcing goods)

Hi
I'm planning on visiting China on a tourist type, and while in China change my current one to temporary one ( 1 year), would I be able to get it if I'm working independently and not with a company( I plan to do sourcing from manufacturer to consumer). I don't have a university degree,I just plan to start my own small bussiness.
Thanks for helping.
Maya

Changing the types are not possible in China if you apply in person, based on my experience.

After you start your own company in China, you can try to apply for a stay permit for you first. Then you can take your work permit and an invitation you issue yourself to apply it in HK or apply through a China mainland agency to get your Work Z. Then you can enter China and change your Work Z to a resident permit to stay in China for more than 180 days.
