I am an American who currently resides in Istanbul Turkey. How do I go about getting a Visa for my trip to Shanghai? I do not know of a Chinese Embassy here in Istanbul.Can I apply online for a tourist L?

You can try to apply in Chinese embassy in Turkey. The embassy's address is at Gölgeli Sokak No.34, Gaziosmanpaşa, 06700, Ankara, Turkey. You need to apply in person or through a local tour agency. Applying online is not possible.
