About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Hi. I plan go to Study in China and want to take my wife to accompany

is invite me for post doctorate study and i am ready to accept this opportunity, but is it possible to get VISA of my wife along with me because i plan to go china with my wife. Which types can possible for both of us and kindly also suggest which are the documents requireds for both of us.

Hi, it is possible to invite your wife to accompany to stay in China with you and she can apply for a S1 to stay. You are suggested to go to China first and then your wife is able to apply for a S1.

To apply a S1, she needs to provide her valid passport, an application form, a recent taken photo, an invitation letter from you, your marriage certificate, your copy of passport & resident permit and a personal statement. Your resident permit can be got after you reach China.

You need to apply for a X type for studying in China. You need to provide your valid passport, an application form with a photo, admission letter and a JW202/JW201 Form (if any).

Is it possible to go china from India at a same time. The invitation letters for both of us may be provide by my prof. who lived in China. Actullay my plan is to go china together at a same time. It is better if my wife come with me at same time when i departure.

If so, you may need to consult the local Chinese embassy directly. According to the rules, your resident permit is required for your wife to apply for a S1, but you do not have it now. You need to consult the embassy to solve this issue. Or you can first apply another type for her and then change once after you get the resident permit.
