I found in the 'China Travel Guide' website that there are trains from Pingxian (border Crossing near Long San) to other places in China including Guilin. There are actually overnight trains from Pingxian to Guilin and other places.
I would love to get an overnight train, but...
What has me very troubled is the information added in their site: very problematic to buy tickets online beforehand as the names in english are not recognised because of spaces and other stuff…
So I don't know HOW to get the overnight tickets, as they sell out quickly in advance… and apparently foreigners have to get them at the train station to be sure...
If anyone has any knowledge on this I am most grateful.
