Wangjing West Bus to Jinshanling

We would like to go to the section this Friday, November 21st. I took the bus from Wangjing West back in September with friends and there was no need to get off the bus and take a shuttle.

Is this new? Or was it because I went on the weekends?

Beatrice, there is just one tourism bus from Wangjing West to the scenic area. It departs at 08:00 and returns at 15:00. It goes to the scenic area unless there are more than 20 tourists. Otherwise, tourists will be arranged to take public buses, get off at Jinshanling Highway Service Area and then change free shuttle bus to the scenic area.

Dear Beatrice, we went there today, there was no shuttle bus and they closed the closest gate but there was a local man with a mini van, we bargained and he took us there and brought us back, he waited there and also called someone to get us the information where and when the bus for Beijing will be. Probably you will bump into the same guy, appears he is the only one there. If you miss the tourist bus or want to go later, one rink before this bus you have a public bus that goes there every hour, that's the one we used. Bargain with the man, because he doesn't have a lot of clients these days so for sure you can have the van really cheap. Enjoy your stay there, it was really beautiful today.

You have a public bus every hour, we went by 9 am bus, you just have to arrange your own transportation to the wall after the bus leaves you at the service area, just as what Rich mentioned. Arrange a low price with locals to take you there by their car, it is not far from the place bus leaves you at. You can see my reply to Beatrice here for more details about how we managed to get there.

Hello Joanna,

Thank you for your information. We ended up going on Friday and met the same local driver. He drove us to the main gate for 20 kuai. We just missed the free shuttle by 5 minutes and didn't want to wait an extra hour. It was a fun trip!

Thanks again :)
