About:Zhouzhuang Water Town

What is the best way to get to Zhouzhuang from Shanghai on a Saturday afternoon?

What is the closest fast rail station to the village? We would like to arrive late afternoon on the Saturday and stay overnight in the town, returning to Shanghai on Sunday afternoon. We are hoping to do this next weekend. My recent experience with the long distance bus station at Caoxi road in Shanghai was that the bus left in the morning and was therefore not suitable for my friends and I.

As I know, the best way is to take the direct long distance bus to the town. In the Shanghai Tourist Center, located at No.2409 of the South Zhongshan 2nd Road, you can take the bus. The bus leaves at 07:00, 08:30, 09:05, 12:10 and 14:00. You can easily catch one.

The nearest station to the town is the Kunshan Station, but it will take several transferences. So you are suggested to take the bus.

Lily, thank you so much for answering my question. I am sorry to be a pain, but can I ask how current your information is? I recently(last weekend) had a difficult time chasing down an advertised tourist bus, and finally travelled the distance to the tourist site by taxi, because the information had all changed, so this is why I ask you this question.
The fast train may be ok, as we all work in the west and could get to Hongqiao train station fairly easily. What did you mean when you said that there were quite a few transfers? Is it just a matter of getting a taxi from Kunshan station? Regards, Debbartels
