About:China City Guide

cost of train ticket and duration

Hi I want to go to Mianyang in Sichuan province to spend Chinese new year with friends.I am foreign student in dalian.How much is the ticket?or will I take two train..one to Beijing then another to Mianyang?how long is the journey?

Hi, there is no direct train between and you need to transfer. Beijing is a good transfer place. To take a bullet train from Dalian to Beijing, the cost is CNY261 for a second class seat and CNY353.3 for a first class seat. It takes around 6.5h. Then a fast train from Beijing West to Mianyang costs CNY397-407 for a hard sleeper and CNY611-625 for a soft sleeper. The duration is 27-28h.

As you said that, you will be there to spend the Chinese New Year. Do book the train tickets in advance.
