About:K Trains

I arrive at 11am, guessing I'll be out of the Kunming airport by noon

- trying to decide if I should go to Dragon Gate or Stone Forest as soon as I arrive. I'm meeting a friend at 7pm. Will I have time to do one of these?

If so - what route? how much would a bus/taxi be?

If you will meet your friend in KM city center area, your time is enough to visit one of them. Since the Stone Forest is a must-see, it is more recommended. You can take subway line 6 or a taxi to the East Bus Station, where there are direct buses to Stone Forest (Shilin). You can spend around three hours and then get back to meet your friend.
