Hi, what is the fastest route from Hangzhou to Huangshan via train or bus? Thank you!

I'll most probably travel on 20th December 2014, do I need to book tickets in advance?

Hey, if by train you need transfer.
You’re suggested to go to Huangshan by bus. Direct bus to Huangshan Scenic Area is available in Hangzhou West Bus Station. With six buses running to the scenic area each day, the time schedule is: 08:00, 09:50, 10:50, 12:40, 14:10, 15:10. The ticket fare is CNY98-110.

During your traveling period, there won't be crazy crowds, so it is fine to buy the ticket on your arrival, no need to book in advance.

Thanks for your reply, Luisa! I saw that the bus ride is around 7 hours. Will it be faster if I take train and transfer?

No, it is not true. The bus ride actually takes 3-4h to Huangshan scenic area. This shall be the best way to go, because no direct train service is available.
