best places to go in december/january

Hi.Me and my girlfriend will travel in China from December 23 - January 6, flying to and from Shanghai Pudong. We have both been to quite some places (like Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Qingdao, Hong Kong, Macau, Huangshan, Xian, Zhangjiajie, Chongqing) and provinces (Guangxi, Guangdong, Yunnan, Hunan, Hubei). Can you give some advice on what is best to do? We came up with some ideas, could you please share your thoughts and/or add better ideas?1. Inner Mongolia (too cold during that period?)2. Chengdu (too cold during that period?)3. Hainan (is the weather good enough to enjoy the beach?)4. Harbin (the ice festival starts in January officially, does it make sense to go there in late December? Or is it better to go in January)5. Please share your recommendations

During your travel, Beijing, Shanghai and Xian should not be missed. Apart from them, let's see your planned places:1. It will be very cold in Inner Mongolia. It is not during the best traveling timing either. So you can omit this place. 2. It is fine to tour Chengdu dring that time, when it won't be very cold. The average temperature shall be 40F or a little higher. You are highly recommended to visit for your China trip. The tasty snacks there are the best part. 3. It is getting a little cool in Hainan. If you wanna enjoy yourself on the beach or by swimming, it is not a good choice. You may also consider missing it. 4. Harbin is the best choice. The Ice and Snow Festival would open on Jan. 5, before and after when there will be many activities, so you are recommended to reach there in Jan. These are the general suggestion. As your trip lasts a little long, I suggest you ask a travel agency to arrange an efficient itinerary for you. They would also help you book transportation tickets and hotels for your convenience.
