About:Visa Policy of China

I am visiting Hong Kong in a couple of weeks. I hold an Australian passport. Do I need a visa?

Also I am visiting Shenzhen. Last time I went there I bought one when I got to Lo Wu station from Hong Kong. A friend here has told me that has changed and I now need to buy it from Australia before I go. Is this correct?

You are suggested to apply a single entry Tourist L for visiting Shenzhen when you are in Australia if you can do it. If you have it, you do not need to worry about policy changing and getting refused at the Shenzhen border.
