How long have you lived in China and do you have any othe relatives out of China?

To apply for a permanent residence, the applicant needs to live in China for five consecutive years. If the applicant is over 60 years old, live in China no less than nine months every year with financial guarantee for living and a residence without any relative outside China, he/she can apply for the permanent resident. Personally speaking, you may be impossible to get it since you live in China for a short time.

For your situation, you can still try to apply for a Q1 type to live in China for a long time.

If so, it is impossible for you to get a permanent resident permit to live in China. So Q1 type may be the best choice for you.
