spring festival in Shenzhen

What is the best time to buy a train ticket from Hongkong to Shenzhen. I would like to know if I just purchase a round trip ticket in advance . I will be stayin for the chinese festival next year 2015.

Rupert, there is no need to take train from HK to Shenzhen. You just need to take East Rail (MTR) to Lo Wu and cross Luohu Border to reach Shenzhen. It's very easy. But the border will be very busy and crowded during festivals.

I can recommend not using the border crossing at Luo Hu during the holiday seasons. This border crossing is often dangerously crowded during holidays. Other possibilities would include taking a direct bus (coach) across the border, saving many of these troubles.

There are also regular ferries from Hong Kong island to Shenzhen.

I will try the coach buses or ferry for less crowd going to Shenzhen. How about the out bound plane from hongkong to Shenzhen. I just want to get the best chance to get there on time .
