4 of us will be arriving at Baiyun airport at 21:30 on a Thursday night.  It was suggested we catch airport shuttle number 5 to Suijing Building, then catch a cab to the Hilton Baiyun.  Because this will be late at night, what is the area around the Suijing Building safe at night, and how easy is it to catch a yellow or blue cab from there?

Yes, you can take airport shuttle bus line 5 to Suijing Building first.  Then just take a taxi to your hotel directly. The distance between Suijing Building and your hotel is quite close. And the taxi fare is CNY 10. This area is safe at that time. And it's easy for you to get a taxi in front of the building.
