About:Drinking Water in China

Is it safe to drink tap water without boiling?

I don't really like hot or warm water. Cold water is nice but I prefer cool water at room temperature(just nice). So boiling water simply increases its temperature and I have to wait till it cools down(long). Can I just drink water directly from the tap without filtering(I don't have the tool for it) and boiling?

Hanaki, I don't think it is a good idea. If you don't like hot water, you may drink botted water instead of tap water. Yes, the water quality has been improved. However, I think it's still a bit risky for foreigners to drink tap water directly.

Hanaki I think you are a bit lack of sense. Do you wanna risk your life? I had a very serious Diarrhea when I lived in Mexico City due to drinking tap water. I was so ill that I almost died. If you wanna die then it is ok , you drink tap water. Of course I have friends in Singapore and HK and China and they are so smart that they have a water heater. they drink hot water even in summer. David warns you. blessings
