how far from huangshan town to the actual gates of the mountain

Hi, I am a bit confused as to how far HS city, where we are staying, is to the actual Yellow Mountain park?   I have heard that the hotels are expensive on the actual mountain so we planned on staying in HS itself.  Does this make sense?  Also, is the cost of the ticket into the National Park for one day only (around 230 yuan)?

Huangshan is a city, famous for the Mt. Huang. The mountain scenic area, also called Yellow Mountain, located in the south of the city. From the downtown area to the scenic area, it is about 45 miles far between. In the HS General Bus Station, there are direct buses to the mountain park.And you are right, the hotel on the mountain is quite expensive, but if you want to see see the sunrise and sunsei scene on the mountain, living on the mountain is the best choice. Some hotels provide cheap bunk beds with well condition. Or you can rent a camp on the mountain, which is a more economical way.The one day ticket in normal days is still CNY230 per pax.
