Hi, I'm a pig and he's and ox. Will this work?

We've been talking for a year but we both have dated other people at the same time. He is younger and I care for him. I want to take things more seriously but I don't know how because he makes me feel like he doesn't even though he's been contacting me recently and I've said I was busy.
