Is a visa required to HK and Macau

Hi there,
We are Australians travelling to Hong Kong in December. We would like to go to Macau for the day to check it out. Do we require a permit to do this?

If you stay in HK for less than 90 days and in Macau for less than 30 days, you can only use your valid passport to travel.
