Is it perferable to wear a dress skirt or pants for business meetings in China? Or is either acceptable?

A professional dress skirt for office ladies is better than a pair of pants. It's said that women in professional skirt looks more onfident. However, you shouldn't wear it if yours isn't a professional one.
