Well, if you wanna travel on your own, book a normal express train between the two cities and book a chain hotel like Seven Days Inn and Home Inn, which usually cost much less. The metro system is very convenient in SH, so you can make the best use of it for all your travels. For your two days' travel, you can also experience the local sightseeing bus, whose cost if CNY30 and you can get on and off the bus for unlimited times within 24 hours.
