About:China Museum of Huaiyang Cuisine

Jae. I have a question regarding teaching English in China.

I only have a high school certificate.
I've heard that China is one of the places where I can teach English without a BA degree.
If this is true, which visa do I apply for and would it be possible to work in China on legal basis and also could you break down step by step how do I go about obtaining the correct visa to teach legally with someone with my qualifications?

If you want to to work in China, you need to have a Work Z to work legally in China. For applying that, you need to have a work permit/Permit for Foreign Experts Working in China from the company in China, an invitation letter, your valid passport and an application form with a recent taken photo, and then apply through the local Chinese embassy/consulate.

Currently, it may be hard to teach English in China without a BA degree, since the requirements are becoming strict and certain certificates are needed. You need to contact for the different training schools or company to know their requirments.

Thank you for responding to my question Gene.
I got a response from the agency telling me its safe and sound to work in their school with a business type as the school has a good relationship with the local foreign affair office.
What exactly does this mean?

Hi, Jae. The agency may help you to get a business type to work in China. But once you have some differences with the agency, they may stop the relationship with you. Then you may be illegal to work in China and may cause you some problems.

If you really want to teach in China, you are suggested to find a job on your own and apply an ordinary Work Z to avoid troubles.
