From hangzhou to shanghai by train

Hi may I know from HZ railway station to shanghai railway or hongqiao, do I need to purchase tickets in advance or I can jus buy on the spot from ticket counter on the the day of travel? Thanks

If youa re traveling during normal days, it would be fine to buy the ticket on the spot on your arrival day. If during Chinese holidays like National Day Holiday, Spring Festival and May Day holiday, you'd better book the ticket in advance.
