About:Visa Application for Children Born in US with Chinese Parents

I am American. My wife is Chinese. Our baby is American.

We plan on going back to China long-term. We want our baby to get permission to go back to China based on being the son of a Chinese citizen, not on my Z-visa work situation, which can change easily from job to job. What type or documents should we apply for our son in order for him to stay in China long-term based on being the son of a Chinese woman. Thank you.

You can apply for a Q1 for your son. After he enters China, he can change his Q1 to a resident permit, so he can live in China for a long time.

For documents, his valid passport, an application form with a recent taken photo, your son's birth certificate, your passport and your wife's resident permit in USA are needed for application. Either of you and your wife are suggested to to apply at the nearby embassy or consulate.
